Overstrand Evening Women's Institute

The Overstrand's Women's Insitute was founded in 1983 and now has approximately 36 members. Detailed information about the W.I. can be found at www.thewi.org.uk

We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall, The Londs, Overstrand. Most meetings feature a guest speaker and there is often a demonstration, slide show or entertainment of some kind.

Each month we have a competition linked to the meeting's topic plus a raffle to help our funds. After the speaker, refreshments are available and members have a chance to chat. We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome to members and visitors.

In addition to the monthly meetings we usually have trips, walks, a garden party, plus fund-raising events such as coffee mornings, auctions, car boot sale table. Members are also involved in other W.I. activities such as craft and Scrabble competitions, meetings and events at neighbouring institutes, regional or national meetings of various kinds.

If you would like more information please contact our secretary on 01263 834242 or at: c.needham856@btinternet.com - or just come along to one of our meetings

In addition to the meetings below a programme of walks has been arranged and there will be trips to the Van Dal shoe factory and shop in Norwich and to Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse Museum.
