Lady Battersea's Head Gardener
This email (copy below) from John Kett is interesting, although I have read previously of Harold Naylor being gardener to the Battersea's, I really have no knowledge of him or his family, there must be people in the village who remember him and his family and I would be most grateful for anyone who has any knowledge of him and or his family to contact me.

Dear Terence, My apologies for not getting in touch with you sooner; we are still finding more photos in my fathers collection and will contact you again once I have got them together.
My great uncle, Harold Naylor, was head gardener to Lady Battersea, and married the local District Nurse, Rachael Barrow, before retiring to North Walsham. Harold had an only son by his first marriage, who was killed in the first world war, and is buried in Overstrand church yard; Harold and Rachael are buried together in North Walsham cemetary.
I would be interested to learn of any information you may have regarding them in your historical records when we meet up. John Kett.
